“I encourage students to be true to what is within, fostering their own creativity, for each person has a unique connection to source.”~ Tatseena
Student of Middle Eastern Dance
Dance first intrigued me in the early 70s watching John Compton and Troupe Bal Anat perform at the Renaissance Faire. I signed up in 1973 and fell in love with the music and hypnotic movements of this expressive art form. I studied with Natica Angilly, Bert Balladine, and Najia El Mouzayen. I enjoy teaching and dancing many styles of Belly Dance from theatrical fusion to classical.
I also studied a bit of jazz, ballet, folk dance, and taught yoga with workshops for couples, and healing through moving energy and clearing/charging chakras. I participated in workshops by other notable artists such as: Bert Balladine, Rhea, Fatima & Jamilla, Delilah, to some newer teachers like Zoe Jakes, Amy Sigil, and Elizabeth Strong to name a few. Additionally, I have danced and taught private workshops over my career in Egypt, Greece, Europe, Portugal, and Taiwan.
Teacher of Middle Eastern Dance
My yoga and dance teaching career began in 1979 at a holistic health center in Calaveras County, CA and now continues here in the SF Bay Area.
